Patricia Carber (daughter of George and Annetta Carber) and Robert Reed (son of Edward and Nancy Reed) were married on July 28th, 1954 at Lyons Methodist Church in Clinton, Iowa. The two met while attending Lyons High School.
After High School, Pat started her career in Clinton while Bob joined the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean War. After the war, Bob returned to Clinton to marry his love, Pat. They soon bought their first home in Camanche.
With an engineering background, Bob found employment at DuPont in Clinton. In Camanche, Bob served as a volunteer fireman and Boy Scout Troop 121 founder/leader. Pat found her calling as Children's Choir Director, Girl Scout leader and Camanche Schools chef and teacher's aid. Both joined St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Camanche serving in many leadership roles and share great memories with family and friends from their 26 years in Camanche.
In 1978, Bob accepted a management position at Basin Power Electric Cooperative in Wheatland, Wyoming. Bob, Pat and son Michael, moved to Wheatland in 1979. Bob retired in 1995. In 1996, Bob and Pat returned to live in LeClaire, Iowa near family. They joined Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf, Iowa and in 2015 moved to "The Fountains" in Bettendorf.
Bob and Pat will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, July 28th in a private party. Bob will also be celebrating his 86th birthday. They are blessed with three children: Vicki (Kevin) Putman of Newburgh, IN, son Dr. Ricky (Cindy) Reed of LeClaire, IA , and son Michael (Bev) Reed of Bettendorf, IA, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five great step-grandchildren.
